Interesting little tid-bit of info here in that the iPhone is now the most popular camera used for uploading photos to Flickr, the image sharing site. It takes over the crown from the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.

I suspect the phenomenal success of the iPhone 3GS might have something to do with this.

LG have released a couple of videos for their much-hyped new “Black Series” phone the LG BL40. I won’t say a whole lot, except for the fact that it has a rather excellent 4″ HD touch screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Yes 21:9!

are you one of apple’s most loyal?

The iPhone 3G may well be opening up to other network operators in a matter of weeks – in the UK at least. Apple looks all set to break it’s two-year exclusivity deal with O2 and allow T-Mobile and Orange sell the older 3G model. This change could potentially come as early as this September, with O2 retaining exclusivity of the new 3GS model.

T-Mobile call centres in the UK have even gone as far as to tell some customers that they were going to be stocking them in the not to distant future.
The addtion of other operators selling the iPhone could potentially lead to a price war between networks, the result being that customers paying less for their tariffs.

This story does seem to give some credit to reports over here that Vodafone are to start selling the iPhone sometime later this year. One boards.ie member stating that his brother was asked by Vodafone whether he had heard reports that the iPhone was coming to Vodafone, and would he like to register interest.

A bit of competition never hurt anyone after all…

Below is the jump for the the first unboxing video of HTC’s newest Android powered phone the HTC Hero. HTC have added their own Sense UI to the underlying android os and boy does look like a thing of beauty. The Hero ships across europe later this july/august….

…. But not as beautiful as Sony Ericsson’s custom layering of the android os. It’s called the Rachael UI. It truly looks like the best phone interface ever, and i’m big-time digging the unified social networking vibe. Here’s hoping it actually does ship, cause I want a bit of Rachel too.

Since the Wii was realesed back in 2006 the Wiimote has been modified to control lnumerous amounts of electronics and crazy gizmos, but i’ve never seen anything like this before. A couple of Australian boffins have modified the Wiimote, using extensive use of the python language, to control a giant 15-tonne grapel.

Sure what else would you be doing at work?
