Artist – little boots

Having coming out on top of the BBC’s Sound of 2009 – joining the likes of Adele, and second in the Brits Critic’s Choice awards, it seems 2009 could be a good year for the british born Little Boots. With her hands firmly placed in the electro pop area with synthesized beats and catchy vocals she could really catch on to the populace. Her debut album “Hands” doesn’t touch down till june, but here’s the link to get an exclusive album mix little boots

…..Roisin Murphy & LeRoux instantly come to mind.

Here’s here first official music video “New in town”, an urban “Thriller” style jaunt.

Many a thursday night have me and the gang spent in the best hidden gem dublin has to offer, Andrews Lane Theatre.

While tuesday nighst offer us up “Trashed”, with it’s mix of indie/electro beats mixing the likes of interpol, vampire weekend, animal collective and foals with the twelves, disco villains and bloody beetroots. Lets us also not forget the cheap drinks.
While thursday gave us “Control Delete”, with it’s more electro based sets. We were usually the only ones there on a thursday, but that just made the intimate venue feel even more intimate. We got to know the bouncers, even slagging each other how it was mainly only them and us.
But unfortunately “Control Delete” has drawn to a close. Where are we now to hit on a thursday night, when all we want to do is dance?.

Sure there is always Spy, but……. nah!

NOIZE
There is some consolidation though, ALT now has “NOIZE” every wednesday night, another indie/electro based night. At least we know where we will be most wednesday nights from now on.

the times they are a changing.

As Bob famously said, "The times they are a changing". This my friends is a certainty.

Over the last few months and years I have come to form some very close relationships with some truly great people , this unfortunately, is about to change as the the end of the final college year has finally crept up on us. People move on, it's just what happens.

This summer will be a very different one to the last, as my best mates are moving to America for the summer. No longer will we be making the weekly ritual of meeting up on a friday evening after work to attack another frolic filled weekend. No longer will we be able to just meet up and have a laugh, no matter how silly we sound to the outside world.

We must all finally find out what we want to do with our lives...Not fun.

A round up of some of the best movie posters and why.

Great movie posters

Think they forgot about this classic Highly underrated, rarely seen Luc Besson movie....
Angel-A

...Not as good as the epic Léon. I dare anyone not to come away from that movie not impressed by the ever brilliant Gary Oldman. Quite possibly the best performance ever.

Allen Stewart Konigsberg (guess who) is suing the largest clothing firm in America, the aptly named American Apparel for $10 million dollars.

"Woody Allen on Monday sued American Apparel Inc, claiming the U.S. clothing company used his image in advertising on billboards and the Internet without his consent.

The billboard ads, which depict Allen dressed as a rabbi, appeared in New York and California, according to the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

Allen, an Oscar-winning U.S. director known for his work in films such as “Annie Hall” and “Crimes and Misdemeanors,” said in the suit he was neither contacted by the company, nor compensated for the use of his image.

“Allen does not engage in the commercial endorsement of products or services in the United States,” according to the lawsuit.

He is seeking damages in excess of $10 million, according to the suit." Reuters

$10 million dollars... Cop the fuck on, Woody.
